Every week, each teacher awards two children in his/her class with an Academic Achievement Award and a School Spirit Award
Children are presented with certificates at assembly each week, generally held on Fridays (unless advised in the newsletter). The recipient of the School Spirit Award then resume the responsibility of Class Captain for the week.
The School Spirit Awards are based on the Nine Values for Australian Schooling, emerging from Australian school communities and from the National Goals for Schooling in Australia in the Twenty-First Century. Each week, a different value from this list is awarded.
These shared values such as respect and 'fair go' are part of Australia's common democratic way of life, which includes equality, freedom and the rule of law. They reflect our commitment to a multicultural and environmentally sustainable society where all are entitled to justice.
