“Working Together – A Code of Conduct for Parents”

This document has been developed for schools by the Townsville Catholic Education Office. The process has included extensive consultation with representative parent groups across the Catholic System of Schools in the Townsville Diocese. As the title indicates, it is all about our working together for the good of our children. The document includes a Code for Parents as they interact with the school community. Our students and staff are also bound by similar codes.

This document is now a key school document and is part of those documents referred to in the Enrolment Application which parents agree to support. The Enrolment Application statement reads in part as follows:

“5. I/we agree to work in partnership with the school in the best interests of our son/daughter and the school community”; and

“7. I/we agree that the rules, codes of behaviour and policies of the college and/or Townsville Catholic Education Office may be altered or added to at any time, using appropriate processes”.

We know our parents and carers will find this code useful as we go forward in providing the best of schooling in the Catholic tradition. We certainly do look forward to our “working together “ to be the best Catholic school community we can all be.
